Welcome  to my bus page. Two of my favourite buses are the AEC Merlin and the Metro-Scania. My affection for the Metro-Scania stems from the fact that they were the last buses bought for the King Alfred fleet. Although none of King Alfred Metro-Scania's survived an ex-Newport (South Wales) example is part of the fleet operated by FOKAB.

FOKAB  as The Friends of King Alfred Buses is known to its members, was formed in 1985 to preserve and restore King Alfred buses, and to study and preserve anything and everything to do with this proud independent company which served Winchester and district between 1920 and 1973. Every year, on the first of January, King Alfred buses and preserved buses from other local fleets take to the roads to recreate a service from a bygone era.
